Underground Books – 23rd Feb 2010

Day two of my commuter survey…

Clearly I have an awful lot of reading to catch up on!

Very Valentine by Adriana Trigiani
This is the first in a trilogy of stories about the Roncalli and Angelini families who live between Manhattan and Italy.

It’s a romantic story with plenty of twists and turns. This might not be my kind of novel but I think it must have a mass appeal. I’m sure I’ll see plenty more people reading this in the months to come.
Freakonomics by Steven D Levitt & Stephen J Dubner
This is a fascinating book as it takes a look at life from a different angle.

It gives an understandable way of ‘getting’ statistics and probabilities and is a very engaging book. Well worth a read.

The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum
Jason Bourne is famous for being played by Matt Damon in the movies. However this is where the ideas for the films came from and is a compelling read.

There is more detail in the book and the storyline is very different but this isn’t so bad, there are no time limits with a book as with a film.

Settle down, strap in and prepare for a gripping roller coaster ride.

A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown
This is on the New York Times  best seller list.

The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood
