London Underground Books – 11th March 2010

Quite a good day today with some older books spotted. The usual frustrations of not being able to spot the front covers of all of the books. Travelling on the Piccadilly Line as ever between Manor House and Leicester Square.

If you know which book has an image of an ‘L’ plate in the middle of the back cover I’d love to know!

Here’s today’s list.

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

I saw this being read by two different people, as popular as ever.

Hornet's Nest by Patricia Cornwell

Hornet’s Nest by Patricia Cornwell

First time I’ve spotted a Patricia Cornwell book on the tube but her crime thrillers are so popular that I expect at least one is being read on any tube train.

Interestingly hornets also turn up in Stieg Larsson’s The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest no surprise though. They are quite nasty!

The Smoke Jumper by Nicholas Evans

Around Ireland with a Fridge by Tony Hawks

Around Ireland with a Fridge by Tony Hawks

Interesting to see this book being read. It’s been out a while and if I remember correctly the book is based around the ludicrous idea that comedian Tony Hawks would tour Ireland with his fridge for company. It was on the Radio or TV, not sure which.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

Ever popular! I’m sure I saw a film poster for this today as well.

The Neighbour by Lisa Gardner

Air Babylon by Imogen Edwards-Jones

If you loved the Hotel Babylon stories you’re sure to love these too. First time I’ve seen this on the tube.

Sexing the Cherry by Jeanette Winterson

Sexing the Cherry by Jeanette Winterson

The return of another modern classic. Not seen this on the tube for a few years but it’s back.
